Nebula and Space Clouds

Nebula and space clouds are randomly located through-out the universe.

Nebula and space clouds are giant astral bodies randomly located through-out each of the parallel universes. Nebula can be mined for resources and occasionally provide rare resources not found anywhere else in the universe.

Because of the instability of nebulas, it is possible that ships passing through the cloud may experience one of a variety of effects:

  • Disrupted Cloaking Device  -  Cloaking devices may operate inconsistently within a space cloud - ships thinking they're cloaked may be completely visible within the cloud.

  • Disrupted Communications  -  You may find it impossible to communicate with ships within the space cloud.

  • Disabled Shields  -  Certain energy fluctuations may cause shields active on your ship to suddenly become disabled and unusable.

  • Disabled Technology  -  Those same energy fluctuations may interfere with the operation of technology installed on your ship.

  • Physical Damage  -  The turbulent nature of the nebula may cause physical damage to the hull of your ships.

The turbulence and interference created by nebula extend well beyond visibility. If your ship is experiencing any of these problems inexplicably, it is quite possible that there is a nebula nearby.
